really liked it
bookshelves: general-fiction

At times I was reminded a bit of American Psycho while reading this. However, unlike American Psycho, I was able to finish the last 20 pages and actually felt that the main character matured through the circumstances of his life, and recent events.

Perhaps not Banks at his best, but there is a lot in this book to like. There's also a lot to dislike, and there should probably be a warning about explicit non-consensual sex. However, I feel these scenese were dealt with fairly well, and actually did further the development of character, leaving the reader with much to consider.
