it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, books-to-re-read
Read in October, 2002 — I own a copy

The best book I've ever read. Mistry uses such vivid imagery that you feel totally enveloped in the story. It becomes an experience rather than just a good read. There are so many upsetting and disturbing parts that make you feel uncomfortable and at many parts in this novel I cried. But there is beauty as well. The beauty of the human spirit. Courage, strength and compassion is offset with despair, pain and tragedy. That is the fine balance.
