I will be the first to admit that the cover is what drew me to this novel. Then I read the synopsis and I knew that it was a book that I could devour and loose myself with it's pages, and I am happy to admit that I was not disappointed.

The Map of Time by Felix J. Palma is epic read comprising of three mini stories with H.G. Wells at their epicenter. The first story centers on a young man set on committing suicide over the murder of his beloved who was the last victim of Jack the Ripper, his cousin convinces him to find H. G. Wells and with his assistance travel back in time to stop and kill Jack the Ripper before he commits his last murder. The second story concentrates on a young women fed up with life in Victorian England and wishing for an untimely end to her life but things will change for her as she finds love and H.G. wells will again return. The last story brings H.G. Wells back into the pages as he becomes involved with an unusual murder by helping the Scotland Yard. Although all of these stories seem basic, all is not as it seems with plot twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat and guessing until the very last word.

The Map of Time is a memorable read embodying historical fiction with a twist and just the right elements of mystery and romance to keep you wholly engaged. Don't let the size of this novel intimidate you because you will be left wanting more. I cannot say more for I would give too much away but this book is worth every minute of your time regardless of where it is spent.
