really liked it
bookshelves: regency

Surprisingly, since this is a self-published book, I really enjoyed this novel about Jane Austen's Persuasion from Captain Wentworth's perspective. One of my favorite aspects of this novel and it's sequel was its fleshing out of life for a sailor and captain during the Regency period. Much of Frederick's life outside of his interactions with Anne are discussed. So many other prequels and "alternative PoV" books just stick with the narration provided in the Austen text. I like that this book goes beyond that, and gives a slice of Regency history as well.
