I received this book from Goodreads.
Although I liked this book, I did find it a little less satisfying than his debut novel, In The Country of Men. It does add to the tale of the first book, by fleshing out his father and mother further, although their deaths and disappearance are shrouded in mystery even after the end of the book. It helps to illuminate a culture that I am lacking of knowledge. Mr. Matar is a gifted writer and can say more in a sparse paragraph than most writers can in a complete chapter. I look forward to reading more of his books.
