Interesting protagonist, good mix of forensic evidence and deduction, enjoyable change of setting from NYC to Martha's Vineyard. Clues are well hidden, with plenty of red herrings. ADA Alex Cooper's lifestyle and friends reveal unexpected personality facets. Interesting colleagues in this first of the series provide a variety of avenues for future plots. At the beginning of the book the writing seems a bit melodramatic, but the style and pacing improves by the action scenes.
