really liked it

This was my first Nelson DeMille read, on a recommendation from a colleague, and I really liked it. This surprised me somewhat, since terrorism is not really my cup of tea. I thought the character development was incredible and the mindset of not only the main characters but also of peripheral ones was interesting. Incredibly, while there was not a lot of action in the book, past events and the intensity of the characters kept me interested throughout (I finished the 900+ pager in just over 3 days).

(Spoiler alert!) The end was realistic, but I could not help feel disappointed that Asad survived. Nonetheless, it was portrayed realistically as a victory for John and Co.

I will definitely read DeMille again!
