I enjoyed this book, but I didn't like it as much as The Wordy Shipmates. See my review of that book for my take on the author.

That is not to say that this book wasn't good, though. It was. I struggled a bit with the Garfield and McKinley sections because they were a bit wordy and I think the main ideas got lost. I still feel like I don't know anything about those men/presidents, which I was kind of hoping to get from this book.

Her Lincoln treatment (the majority of the book) was very good, on the other hand. It was particularly interesting since I'd recently watched a film about the Lincoln conspirators, called, well, The Conspirator.

It was another fast read, and I think American history buffs will enjoy it.
