it was ok
bookshelves: alternate-history, occult, fantasy

What is the point of having so much character development if those well developed characters don't do anything all that interesting? That is no to say it is poorly written. As a whole it reads fine, not too dense, but for the love of god, get on with it. Sure it has a beginning, middle, and end (and those parts could easily be their own novels) I just didn't think the payoff at the end was worth the wait. By the end I was just anxious to be done reading that monster of a book to really care what happened to any of the characters.
