Is it Fiction? Theory? A one-sided epistolary *something* in which one wicked smart woman follows obsessive love (or projection?) all the way down and back up again into something revelatory.

This book was the best thing I got out of a graduate seminar I took on "Love: Theory and Practice"...that and my final project, which which was part fiction (about a woman mourning her dead cat) and part essay, using Roland Barthes's A Lover's Discourse to analyze my relationship with my own cat.
