really liked it

This is a cute little book about two little girls, Betsy & Tacy, who live across the street from each other, become best friends and all the adventures they have together. This story comes from 5 year old Betsy's perspective, which explains the simple story line and surreal descriptions of life on Hill Street. I enjoyed thinking about how different life would have been then and how times have changed.

One thing that I found intriguing was the way the author wove the make-believe world of Betsy's imagination into the story. It left me questioning... "did they really do that or just imagine that they did"? Like many other people, I was unaware of this series as a child, but am interested to continue reading, to see how each book changes based on Betsy's age.

I did appreciate the delicacy with which the author wrote about the death of little Baby Bee. I was very touched at the early morning conversation between Betsy & Tacy, sitting in the tree, talking about her death. Betsy just "being there" for her friend. What a wonderful depiction of true friendship!

Tiffany I'm planning to read them, I've added them all to my "to-read" list! :) I also added all the "Deep Valley" books, those look good as well. Have you read any of them?

Tiffany Lol...I know what you mean. There are so many good books out there and so little time for reading them!
