Realistic Fiction

Korean, lesbian, suicidal teens

Personal Response:

I started this book with a skeptical idea of what the diversity factor would be. It seems multicultural, but I wasn't sure. I found it on the express check out shelf at the library and picked it up randomly. It was a very good read. Couldn't put it down. Excellent story with surprisingly likeable characters.

Curricular or programming tendencies:

As I believe with most multicultural books, it could be part of an awareness theme on suicide amongst teens. I think the book has more hope that one would believes, so it could fit in almost any fiction program.
