really liked it
bookshelves: currently-reading

It is giving me a whole new concept of how our country was born, and what we came into being to eliminate, and how we did it. A lot of the "evils" we tried to eliminate are the same evils we are facing now: xenophobia, racism, narrow-minded-ness, bias, bigotry, prejudice.

It is also giving me a much better idea of the attitudes women have faced and just how many we have overcome. While I think some would like it to swing back towards that attitude, I can see how far we've gotten. If a lot of women read this book and saw what I see, I think we'd be much more willing to step outside our current accepted roles and secure the future for our daughters, and the daughters of other countries.
