This was a very good read by a favorite author of mine. Mysterious elderly sisters are living alone in a castle as a young woman attempts to learn about her favorite childhood author, the father of these sisters. The story moves back and forth between WWll and the present day. Secrets abound, and the story slowly reveals what led to the women living their isolated existence for their entire lives.
