Hallowed Ground (PI Julie Collins, #2)
by Lori G. Armstrong
by Lori G. Armstrong
Julie is such a hot mess you really don't think that things can get worse for her, but in this book they do and they don't. She takes a case with Martinez, with whom she has been walking a line with. The case seems very cut and dry at the start, but by the time we get to the end of the book things have gotten very messy.
Along the way Julie gets beaten, in a car crash, and blown up. Julie's personal life is in just as bad, she has drama with men and issues with her father. Along the way some of the drama with the men gets resolved. I have to say that parts of it I am happy about and some I am not sure about, but I do like who she is with at the end.
With all the crap that is going on Julie, she does manage to make some big discoveries about herself that help her clear up the man drama and help her deal with her father. I also love that she has gotten a good girl friend to just be friends with. The friendship seemed to help ground her.
I look forward to see where life takes Julie next.
