** spoiler alert ** I'm giving this three-and-a-half stars. I'm a bit disappointed with it. I normally just go through the shelves in a bookstore and pick up something that catches my eye and read the back of the book. Well the back of this book has NOTHING to do with the book itself to keep that in mind. I did however enjoy this book to an extent. It was surprised at how easily Sancha would go from hating the Borgia's to being Lucrezia's best friend. I found their friendship odd. The only time I could see, seeing the real Lucrezia was when she was with Cesare in the convent when. For all of the bad things that Sancha said that Borgia's did it was really only the Pope, Juan and Cesare. I expected Lucrezia to be a villain in this book too, and giving up her husband to save her son I suppose could count as that but not what I expected. I can't really formulate a decent review, the book was good, but I'm a little wary of Jeanne Kalogridis books now. Either that or the creators of the back of the book need to learn how to do a summary that actually GOES with the story.
