really liked it

The future of his new Germany lies with its children. That is what Hitler believed in creating the Hitler Youth. Children could be trained to feel no fear or pain and believe whatever you tell them to. During World War II, Hitler set about creating his perfect race of Germans, starting with the children. Schools were redesigned to teach only Hitler’s beliefs. Children were made to rebuild Germany, with farmland, construction projects, relocating the Jews, and even fighting the war.

This is the fantastically personal story of Germany’s children during World War II. Some rebelled, and paid the price with their deaths. Many obeyed and died for their country and Hitler. This book shows the good, the bad, and the very ugly of Hitler’s program for children: The Hitler Youth. It will touch young readers in a way that they never could have understood from reading textbooks on the subject.
