Tom Stein represents actors and singers in Hollywood. And then, he gets a new client: a race of aliens from outer space who have learned about Earth from our television signals, and who want a way to introduce themselves without repulsing humans by their appearance (gelatinous blob) or the array of stinky smells that they use as a native language. Humor ensues.
