His heart and most ideas are in the right place, but the writing is lackluster to awful. Luckily I was still able to piece together what was going on, and I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. All the ideas have been presented before by better authors. It is what it is and just what I needed for the moment: a silly military alien monster story. Summer reading. It’s 97 degrees outside right now… so there you have it.
