Well-written, easily read overview of Darrow's life and times with special reference to some of his major cases. Paints a picture of the relationship between labor and capital at the dawn of the 20th century. Would enjoyed more of Darrow's own words and thoughts. But it piqued my interest in both Lincoln Steffens and Peter Altgeld, progressive governor of Illinois.
