This fun book is about an Los Angeles school teacher with three children, Suzanne Jones. Suzanne has a alter ego Allison Murietta, a descendant of outlaw Joaquin Murrietta, whose chopped off head and diaries are hidden in Suzanne's barn. Allison loves to hold up fast food stores at gunpoint, to steal fancy cars, and to "sell" cars to suckers whose money is stolen when they come to pick up the car. After she has picked up a bag of diamonds at a site where all the participants are dead, Suzanne is stopped by a police man, Charlie Hood. Charlie and Suzanne fall in love, and Charlie, who has now been assigned to detective, quickly realizes that Suzanne is Allison. The police are out to get get her as well as Lupercio, the man who was done out of the diamonds.
