I couldn't figure out when this book was supposed to be taking place. It seemed to be contemporary because of the use of cell phones, but the attitudes of Miss Julia and the townspeople seemed to be from the 1950's. Miss Julia's helplessness and foolishness were a bit much and many of her reactions were unrealistic. This is the first book of a series, but I am not interested enough to continue with the series. Over all the book was okay and mostly clean. There were a few swear words in the book. I can remember at least 3.
