I loved this book! It was interesting to learn that the book was based on an actual family whose jobs were to be the town executioner. So many little facts along with a great mystery. I was worried that it would be filled with gory descriptions of beheading but that was not the case. I think the Hangman was a very sympathetic character. I also was worried that I might be bored with fiction based on history that I have no real knowledge of and again that was not the case. All in all a great story!
