As difficult as it may be to swim through the older English of Paradise Lost, it is great to be able to read John Milton's original English, much like reading Shakespeare.

I love Paradise Lost because of its incredible imagery and extensive vocabulary. Milton was never one to overuse words to describe emotion and plot. But what I like most about Paradise Lost is the humanism attributed to the fall of Satin and his promise to never rest in injuring God by corrupting his favorite creation: us.
