This was the first book I've read by Misty Evans, and it was a pleasant experience. The story of two soul mates who were separated by death is very catchy from the beginning. Keva Moon Water was the Chief Priestess of the Moon Water tribe many years ago. After a binding ceremony of her's and her lover Kai's souls, and Kai's subsequent death by poison, Keva is now immortal.

"She was cursed with immortality, thanks to a spell gone wrong. The simple spell to reunite her with her soul mate, no matter the place and time had become a curse. She could feel pain, she could scar, but she would never die." location 185 - Kindle

Fast forward a thousand years. Keva finds herself at the center of a murder scene, her fellow Moon Water tribe sisters slain by an unknown foe. She also finds Kai's soul - reincarnated in Rife St. Cloud, an FBI agent on vacation. Someone from her past, supposedly long dead, has come back for his revenge against both Keva and Kai. Unfortunately for Keva, Rife is apparently unaware of his past life, and is also a skeptic when it comes to all things religious and spiritual. Keva must convince him that he is her soul mate, before its too late. Luckily, "even a thousand years of immortality and reincarnation" couldn't change chemistry (location 215.)

What follows is a good solid read about the unstoppable love between two soul mates. The magic and mysticism of the native Moon Water tribe is fascinating and makes for an interesting read. I will definitely have to check out more of Misty Evans work.
