it was ok

Two stars means "it was OK" and that's what I thought about this book.

Unfortunately I kept comparing it to the TV show, which I like very much, and they aren't really very much alike. Kathy Reichs (author) is executive producer of the TV show so I'm sure the show being based on the books but not much like them is totally intentional.

The main character has the same name in the books and on the show, Temperance Brennon, but she does not have the nickname, "Bones", in the book. They both have the same job but in different locales. They have different histories, different personalities, and different friends. Their love interest has similarities. Ryan Booth (TV) and Andrew Ryan (book) seem like the same guy but Booth is a former super soldier now on the DC police force while Andrew is a Canadian cop.

I'll read more of these Bones books from time to time, but I will continue to DVR BONES the TV show to make sure I don't miss any new episodes.
