Mesmerizing story with such atypical characters that kind of remind me of Howard Roark and Dominique from Ayn Rand's Fountainhead. I don't usually read mysteries, actually i can't think of any mysteries that I've read before, but I was completely intrigued by the mystery of Harriet Vanger. The amount of meticulous detail that Larsson put into the story is astounding and almost breath taking. I loved watching the mystery unravel through Blomkvist's clever intuition and the horror that unfolded at once intrigued and chilled me to the core.

I hate to compare, but this book is definitely up there with my favorite book (The Fountainhead, Blindness, Wuthering Heights).

in short: very very good story with fascinating characters.
