My Opinion:

Honestly? I didn’t care for it. I read some of the reviews on this and thought,“HUH?”The story is poorly written and the plot is definitely lacking. I thought maybe the “romance”part would be good, and well…that was rather bad as well. Some parts of the story were just so BAD that I literally put the book down and said to myself,“Do I have to read this?”It was horrible and very difficult to get through. The story is set in a small town in Georgia and I’d like to assume that it revolves around the Chase brothers (that sometimes have a Southern accent and sometimes don’t?). I don’t think there was enough background for all of the brothers to make this a series. This is supposed to be the first book for the Chase Brothers but there wasn’t enough character development to be anything more then a book that had some brothers in it.

Maggie, the main character,is…I can’t even find the words to describe her. She is a History teacher at the local high school and starts dating Shane but that relationship goes sour,so she starts dating brother Kyle (Brother #2). Bad,bad plot! Anyway, they fall in love after two days with no real romance involved. They have moved in together after about four which just didn’t seem to make any sense. She is sloppy seconds for Kyle (bad writing) and the plot slowly progresses to a point where she is being stalked. I didn’t enjoy the writing style,I didn’t like the plot, and I certainly didn’t like how Maggie,Kyle, and Shane were portrayed.

The genre is Romance/Erotica but really, that was VERY under written and frankly confusing. I felt as though a bunch of words were just thrown together to make up the “romance”part. Maggie was supposed to be a sharp, intelligent, woman but really —she wasn’t. She’s got such a negative self image from her upbringing that it just turned me off.

No thumbs for this one. I am turned off completely to the author,Lauren Dane.
