One thing I know: Beatrice "Tris" Prior is no Katniss Everdeen.

Divergent has a slow start, and a less-than-compelling middle, but the latter third introduces enough interesting twists that I can definitely see myself picking up the next book in the series.

It does have one lovely idea that sticks with you after the last page, though: that selflessness and bravery aren't so very different.

Sarah You didn't buy it, did you?!

Sarah No no, got it from the library!

Truly, my "meh" review might just be because of timing. I wasn't really in a YA Dystopic Fiction mood, but I'd waited for it so long on my hold list, that I knew it was a now-or-never read...
