Read from July 04 to 05, 2011

This book takes China Bayles away from Pecan Springs to a re-enactment Shaker village in Kentucky. The book is interspersed with excerpts from diaries and letters historically kept by Shakers and with a historical mystery as well as a contemporary one--more sophisticated and difficult plotting for the writer (and a little bit for the reader) makes this more than the usual easy-but-good read for this series, but worthwhile.
