This is a bit of a slog to be honest, which I wouldn't expect from a Bond thriller. I'd no issue with the modern-day reboot, and the villains were decent but the author's stylistic ticks really grated. The switching of viewpoints was clumsy and unnatural, the end of chapter mini-cliffhangers outgrew their welcome, and, worst of all, the here's-what-really-happened rug pull was immensely irritating. 'Oh no, Bond is in trouble!' Relax, he's actually double-bluffing the reader with a complicated plan he apparently came up with between chapters, since we were told his thoughts on this scenario a moment ago.
