I am reading this as a part of The Atlantic Monthly's twitter book club 1book140 (https://www.facebook.com/pages/1book140/...). I am excited to participate in this virtual club-- and to dig in to a new Murakami book.

Rebecca This is the second Murakami book that I've read (the first was The Wind-up Bird Chronicles) and so far it is my favorite. I found the characters' struggles with overcoming tragedies very realistic and thought-provoking. The surrealistic style added to the story, making it more of an allegory of searching for meaning in a confusing world.
