Kind of short, nice snippet though. I'm wondering if this is the kind of thing we will see more of on PotterMore.

I'm happy to read anything by JK Rowling to be honest, but I thought that this was just too short. At two pages, if that, there wasn't much that I could glean from it to add to the mythology in my head.

Sirius and James once had a scrape with the law... ok, not surprising. What was more surprising is that they both seemed to have 'Order of the Phoenix' t-shirts on, unless I interpreted that wrong, and that seems a bit silly for a secret order...

Oh well. Not brilliant, but not awful, and its more Potter...

Khanisa 'Order of the Phoenix' T-shirt? I thought they were just wearing something with a phoenix mark on it. Well, it couldn't be 'Order of the Phoenix' T-shirt I guess, not much hint enough to guess it, and like you said, it's a secret order, it would be riddiculous for them to wear it. (Or, maybe they're rebellious enough. Many possibilities.)

Jen at Reading Lark "Both were dressed in T-shirts emblazoned with a large golden bird; the emblem, no doubt, of some deafening, tuneless rock band."

Could be. That's where my brain went anyway. :) Doesn't really change how I feel about the piece overall.

Rebecca Is there a website where you can read it for free?

There you go - its on the Goodreads page for it. :)

Rebecca Thank you :)

Nelly Ha! I didnt even think of the order of the phoenix. That would've been interesting.

Marilyn I kind of agreed, it doesn't make sense for them to be like "secret thing on our shirts for yu to see!" But I thought maybe it's some kind of protective spell or a tracking spell, not necessarily to show off the order. Idk. But definitely too short! Wanted more :)

message 2: by Emily (new) - added it

Emily Smith They were Gryffindor shirts... Why would they be anything else?

The Gryffindor emblem is a lion. Which doesn't look like a bird unless you have truly awful eyesight, but it is yellow. A phoenix looks like a bird, and might well be golden if it is on fire. That's my interpretation anyway.
