Back of Beyond is another stand alone thriller by NYT bestselling award winning author, C.J. Box. We do see the return of a character from his other thriller Three Weeks to Say Goodbye. Cody Hoyt the rogue cop leaves Denver and returns home to Montana, where the Lewis and Clark Co. Sheriff’s Dept. has grudgingly hired him. Hoyt drinks too much, chain smokes, makes snap decisions that don’t serve him well (like shooting the coroner), but he tries. When his AA Sponsor is murdered, Hoyt bulldozes his way into a possible serial killer case. It takes him into Yellowstone on a pack trip with some odd characters, city slickers, his son and oh, yeah, a murderer...It comes out August 2nd and because of Box's skill with storytelling, his believable characters and his knowledge of Yellowstone as only a guide whose led more than 80 trips into the park has.
