I'm still mulling over my thoughts about this book. I enjoyed it, as I often enjoy these books, but one thought that I can't shake, now that I'm done, is the idea that this series is going to have to draw to a conclusion now. A lot of the large, overarching story threads that have been interwoven are being given answers, and I feel that, as far as the interpersonal/relationship conflicts go, not just with Eve and Roarke, but the secondary characters as well, that these have all been pretty well tied up. So further books are either going to need new interpersonal conflicts, new secondary characters, or are going to have to rely pretty solely on the mystery conflicts to drive them. Since the heart of these books has always been how the characters weave into the stories, I find it difficult to imagine the series going on much longer.

Sasha I have this, just haven't read yet. Interesting thoughts you have here about the storylines. (and I can;t wait to see if I'm right in what I think is going to to happen) I've wondered if the series would ever end. I've also wondered if Trueheart would ever have a bigger part in a story, sort of like Morris did with Promises in Death. There are plenty of secondary characters I'd like to see more of.

I think a spin off with Baxter as the main character would be cool.

Angela James Something I forgot to include in my main review, so I'll include here: she used "anal" as a short for analysis multiple times. Can I just say how jarring it was to read "anal" in this book?

Angela That seems like a weird shortened version of analysis...yeah, that'd be jarring.

Marisa Angela - I really hadn't thought that this series would ever end, UNTIL you mentioned it. And honestly? What you said makes a lot of sense. Should I start my mourning period now?
My first thought after reading this one was, J.D. Robb (Nora) is fearless. My second thought? I love that she can write a romantic suspense series that continually shows what happens after the HEA – and do it well. The dynamic, chemistry and even occasional tension between Eve and Roarke have become what I look forward to when reading an In Death book. Will there be no tension or dynamic now that several of the big story arcs have come to a conclusion? It’s a good question. Where DO they go from here? You’ve made me ponder something I was avoiding.

Angela James I feel like I should apologize, Marisa!

Marisa LOL - no apology necessary, just be prepared to hold my hand and pat my back as I weep profusely if the series should end.

Angela James We can hold a wake and comfort each other!

Birgit Well in her latest newsletter Nora wrote that the next "In Death" Book is finished and she is already working on another.
I don't think we have to mourn. Yet.

Marisa Birgit - thanks for the update.

Angela, it looks as if we'll be discussing the ups and downs of Eve and Roarke's relationship and the rest of the crew for a few more books yet.

Angela James It will be fun to see how she keeps it going. I trust her!

Denise In her official page, they say that she is already write more two books for 2012. I hope that she can do it, because I love this people.

Stradivarius517 I wondered if a new series would begin focusing around the characters Bree & Melinda.

Staci See and I'm still thinking that the big post HEA event is a baby. As flawed as Eve & Roarke are/were I think Roarke would be a fantastic daddy.
