Blood Will Tell is the latest novel of Samantha Young’s that I’ve downloaded and she doesn’t disappoint. The first novel in the Warriors of Ankh series is told from two perspectives – Eden, the soul eater, and Noah the Ankh Warrior who is supposed to hunt souls. However, Eden is a different and Noah has been sent in to determine if she’s different enough to save. I loved the character of Eden, she’s quite a contrast to other heroines in the genre. She’s really quite snarky and wicked sometimes but she is so complex and so likeable at the same time and I thought her struggle with who she was, was really well-written. Noah is just cool. I loved how involved he got with Eden and I loved their relationship, it wasn’t predictable and it was left kind of up in the air so I really want to read the next one to see what happens. There’s plenty of action in the book, and the narrative is funny and addictive. There are also some really creepy elements to it that I really enjoyed. I’ve said it before but I just love that so far Samantha’s books haven’t been repetitive.
Loved it! Quickly becoming a massive fan of this indie author. Can’t wait for Blood Past, Book Two!
