Quakeland
by Francesca Lia Block
Besides some of the goofy new age/feng shui stuff, I think this is one of her better works, just because it's from the point-of-view of an adult woman and not that whimsical. You gotta admire an author who can write about fisting so eloquently.

Usually Block's books are fun and whimsical. So I picked this one up hoping it would cheer me up last week when I was having bad days at work. Um, not this time. This book involves an abusive relationship and natural disasters. Good times! Ha. I'm having a hard time getting through it.
