Yesterday was a beautiful day at the beach and I enjoyed diving into The Dive From Clausen's Pier. It tells the story of Carrie Bell, whose life at the young age of twenty-three is already planned from who she will marry to the number of kids she will have. As the book begins Carrie is engaged to Michael, and is already having doubts about their future together. A day of fun at the pier with friends goes horribly wrong when Michael dives into shallow water and breaks his neck. While he is in a coma Carrie struggles with whether she should stay with Mike, who will likely be a quadriplegic, or take a risk and delve into the unknown by searching for what will make her truly happy.
