As I mentioned before, I'm rereading these books because they managed to establish themselves in my book-memory from when I was a child. Unfortunately, they have not stood the test of time and halfway through the 3rd book in the series, I am putting them down.

I still love the idea of Incarnations as jobs held by humans. I like the interconnected stories. I like the plot. But oh dear lord, the writing. To be fair, I don't think Anthony is a poor writer. I just think that this 1980s fantasy genre is not my cup of tea.

So long, Incarnations. It was nice knowing you. Nicer when I was 11, but, well, so it goes.
