Toobin is a great storyteller - this book was very engaging. I never had any particular interest in the Supreme Court - I picked up this book because I thought that I should know something about this branch of government, and after seeing Toobin speak, he seemed like someone I would enjoy learning from - but I do now! Understanding each justice's judicial philosophy, personal quirks, and path to the bench sheds so much light on the court's role in recent history. The book is a little gossipy - but I think it would have taken the fun out of reading it if it was more factual and less editorial.
