Different. The author has stitched together verbatim quotes from countless sources to relate the history of ESPN, with very little narrative to baste them together. Though it jumps a bit in places, the story nonetheless emerges of a company you can't believe made it as big as they have. Bad decisions, leaders in over their heads, dumb luck, jealous pettiness, demanding prima donnas, and corporate cutthroat warfare lace the story of how ESPN came to be. What's amazing is how close ESPN came to never getting off the ground. Can you imagine how big hole we'd have if ESPN had never come to be?

If you're a sports fan and love SportsCenter, you must read this one!
