Fantastic book! It was fascinating from so many standpoints—from the stories about Washoe learning ASL and passing it onto her adopted son, to the terrible history of biomedical research on chimps, to the amazing capacity of chimps to empathize with humans, to the struggle of Roger Fouts in lobbying for the rights of great apes. Definitely recommended.
