Although I did not really have high hopes for the Women's Murder Club series, I figured I would read the second of the series because I did enjoy the first. That being said, I really did not enjoy the book and unfortunately I do not think I will continue with the series. The plot was very cut and dry, with very little plot twists, which is disappointing for a suspense/thriller. Also, there was not character development for the four main characters other than what was just repeated from the first novel. THe characters just stayed the same and added nothing interesting to the story. There were also two (somewhat) side plots with Cindy and Jull that added nothing to the story, unless they were to build up something in the later books. Either way they were kind of boring and drew away from the main storyline. On top of the weak plot and the basic characters, the Woman's Murder Club, to which the series is named, did not really add anything to the investigation. The police did all the work, and the only thing that the other women really added (that was not included in their job descriptions, because they should be doing their job regardless) were basic homicide 101 concepts.
