liked it

A nice overview of the history of the cod trade. I particularly liked the book's emphasis on the transformation of New England into a colonial economic powerhouse via fisheries and the misguided attempts of the British crown to deal with their free-trading subjects. Perhaps not as universal as Kurlansky's other book 'Salt' but an interesting read none the less.
