it was ok

I was looking for something simple to listen to on the long car trip (dropping kids at camp). I found it entertaining enough at the start, but it was ultimately so disappointing that I wish I'd instead listened to the Jonathan Tropper audiobook that I'd also purchased.

I can't think of anything redeeming about this book, except the basic premise (as advertised, similar to the storyline about the Elizabeth McGovern character in Downton Abbey - American heiress trades estate-saving money for title of Duchess) but that's it. The characters were so ill-drawn that you could hardly root for them. It was like an old Signet traditional regency (though not set in the regency) but longer. Waaaaay longer. The ending clunked, I wasn't really rooting for anyone, and I feel like I totally wasted my time.
