One of my new all time favorite books! This book has such a powerful message in such a fun story. This story will really make you think. & not just about how it was for African Americans but women as well. There were so many differences it makes me truely happy I was born when I was. This book might take a bit to get used to because they use a lot of old southern dialect and slang. It also has three main characters that take turns narrating. There are heart-wrenching moments that make you cry, heart-felt moments that make you smile and moments that will have you laughing out loud.
