I found this book honest and charming, and I think the book illustrates the stages of grief very well. An absent mother, a blooming romance, musical endeavors, and notes left on discarded items (coffee cups, napkins, etc)all make this coming of age story sweet. Teens will connect well to this story, and the author springkles some good metaphors and phrases throughout the story. I especially found the statement, "when a person dies a library dies with them" a good one.
