I read this book in a matter of hours because I could not bare to put it down before I knew what happened. The few times I found it necessary to close this book, I found myself wondering...and worrying about Katie and the rest of the inhabitants of the small, Indiana town and because I am from Indiana and know the area described well, this story was quite real to me.
This is a story of regret - the kind of regret that wakes you up in the middle of the night weeping for what might have been.
Lee Martin did an excellent job of bringing his characters to life and I liked the stark and simple way this story was told.
My only problem was with Mr. Dees. I just did not believe that such a respected and educated man would make some of the decisions he made. Not all, but some.
I highly recommend this book.
