This book shares the roles and impact of lesser known participants of the Revolutionary War. Blacks, women, children, Native Americans and people of diverse nationalities all fought for freedom. Of particular interest to me was the discussion of the importance of the Rev War in moving this country to abolish slavery. We tend to think only of the Civil War, but the groundwork started much earlier. A nicely done, interesting volume.
