Several of my 4th grade teachers do a project each year where the students read through a variety of ABC books and then create their own version using various topics--most recently, an ABC of the American Revolution. This book allowed me to touch on State history, biography, history of the alphabet, and provide a lead-in to this neat project. Loved the brief write-up on Wilma Rudolph--it led me and several students to look up more information about this amazing TN lady.
